Patron of Heritage Awards
A commissioned series of revolving forms.
Pivot was commissioned by Singapore’s National Heritage Board for the Patron of Heritage Awards 2017. The series brings the studio’s exploration of movement and balance into the context of shared heritage, as each ceramic form revolves around a fixed point, slows and returns.
The objects evoke Singapore as an ever-evolving nation in motion. Each revolves—at times unpredictably, but always around a defined point. The fulcrum represents the shared heritage and cultural understanding around which the nation continues to grow.
Their gentle, revolving movement traces a line through past, present and future, bringing shared experiences together as each form comes full circle.
